There are no surprises in the lineups for Barcelona's Champions League clash against Bayer Leverkusen.
Barcelona vs. Bayer Leverkusen: Lineups
The lineups are out for Barcelona’s Champions League group stage game at home to Bayer Leverkusen.
For the hosts, coach Luis Enrique has named Sandro Ramírez in his attack in the absence of Lionel Messi, while Jordi Alba is only fit enough to make the bench. That means Jérémy Mathieu starts at left-back, with Javier Mascherano alongside Gerard Piqué in the middle. Dani Alves is preferred to Sergi Roberto on the right.
Meanwhile, Bayer Leverkusen boss Roger Schmidt has tasked Javier Hernández with leading the line, ahead of a talented attack containing Karim Bellarabi, Hakan Çalhanoğlu and Kevin Kampl. If they can keep things tight at the back, their counter could cause problems for their Catalan hosts.
Barcelona (4-3-3): Marc-André ter Stegen; Jérémy Mathieu, Javier Mascherano, Gerard Piqué; Andrés Iniesta, Sergio Busquets, Ivan Rakitić; Neymar, Luis Suárez, Sandro Ramírez.
Bayer Leverkusen (4-2-3-1): Bernd Leno; Wendell, Kyriakos Papadopoulos, Jonathan Tah, Giulio Donati; Lars Bender, Christoph Kramer; Karim Bellarabi, Hakan Çalhanoğlu, Kevin Kampl; Javier Hernández.
