The lineups have been announced for Real Madrid's second Champions League group game, for which they've travelled to face Swedish side Malmö FF.
Malmö FF vs. Real Madrid: Lineups
Real Madrid aren’t expected to have any problems beating their Swedish hosts.
There isn't any great surprises in Rafael Benítez's selection, though there are a few decisions worthy of note. Veteran defender Álvaro Arbeloa has made the starting lineup alongside summer signing Nacho, while regular left-back Marcelo has only made the bench. Luka Modrić has also been omitted, with youngsters Casemiro and Mateo Kovačić starring alongside Toni Kroos in the middle.
According to UEFA, the hosts are lining up in a 4-4-2 formation; if true, we can expect their two banks of four to sit extremely deep, looking to squeeze the life out of Real Madrid’s attackers. They’ll need to turn in the performance of their lives if they’re to get anything from this game.
Malmö FF (4-4-2): Johan Wiland; Yoshimar Yotún, Rasmus Bengtsson, Kári Árnason, Anton Tinnerholm; Jo Inge Berget, Enoch Kofi Adu, Oscar Lewicki, Vladimir Rodić; Nikola Djurdjić, Markus Rosenberg.
Real Madrid (4-2-3-1): Keylor Navas; Nacho, Raphaël Varane, Álvaro Arbeloa, Dani Carvajal; Toni Kroos, Casemiro; Cristiano Ronaldo, Mateo Kovačić, Isco; Karim Benzema.
