The Premier League has not calmed down one bit. Everyone played midweek, and there were 34 goals between the 10 games across Tuesday and Wednesday. Leicester were the biggest winners, while there was very little movement otherwise in the races for the title and fourth place.
Leicester City are for real and Tottenham Hotspur fans are sad
Don’t expect the Foxes to fall away quickly, plus the rest of the stories and scores from this week in the Premier League.

This week’s scores
Leicester are for real and Spurs fans are sad
In a huge game in the top four race, Leicester came up with a win over Tottenham, expanding their lead over Spurs to seven points. Both teams are in the top four now, but that could prove massive if Liverpool or Manchester United ever start playing well.
Spurs fans aren’t taking the result well.
Hey, at least I can still win the Powerball, right?
— Cartilage Free Capt. (@cartilagefree) January 13, 2016 This really hurts, fam. Like, really really painful.
— Cartilage Free Capt. (@cartilagefree) January 13, 2016 I’m not crying, YOU’RE crying!
— Cartilage Free Capt. (@cartilagefree) January 13, 2016 Liverpool put a center back up top and scored
Steven Caulker is a central defender who joined Liverpool on a desperation loan a couple of days ago. He’s never played striker during his pro career. But with an injury crisis at that position, too, and lacking presence in the box...
I like where Benteke backs away from the ball slowly gumming up the attack. No movement or reading of the game. Just gesturing for the ball.
— Liverpool Offside (@LFCOffside) January 13, 2016 Jürgen Klopp threw him up top.
Well, his movement probably can't be any worse up top than Benteke's so fuck it why not?
— Liverpool Offside (@LFCOffside) January 13, 2016 He didn’t score the goal, but he gave Arsenal a bit to think about, and Liverpool found an equalizer through Joe Allen.
WELSH PIRLO YOU SHOULD HAVE STARTED WELSH PIRLO
— Liverpool Offside (@LFCOffside) January 13, 2016 Jürgen Klopp: tactical genius
West Ham are healthy. Look out
Not that free kicks are something you can count on scoring any game, but these goals show off the talent that Dimitri Payet and Enner Valencia have. They’ve both suffered through injuries this year, but if they can stay healthy, the Hammers can be a real top four contender.
Chelsea are still around, still dropping points
It’s honestly easy to forget that Chelsea are still a part of the Premier League. They’re out of top four contention and they’re definitely not getting relegated. They drew West Brom, 2-2 on Wednesday. This is just here to remind you that Chelsea still exist.
Aston Villa actually won!
We’d forgotten that was possible. Aston Villa fans were thrilled.
YOU GUYS THIS IS WHERE THE TURNAROUND BEGINS
— 7500 To Holte (@7500toHolte) January 12, 2016 Good lord this feels AMAZING. We should do this more often!
— 7500 To Holte (@7500toHolte) January 12, 2016 Oh man, this makes me so so happy. https://t.co/ijJigoKHOG
— 7500 To Holte (@7500toHolte) January 13, 2016 Again, we wait for Wayne Rooney’s resurgence
United were poor in a 3-3 draw, but hey, Rooney scored this AND a penalty! Things might turn around for the Red Devils if Rooney can make this the norm.
