Bayern Munich are marching on as they seemingly always do, a nigh-unbeatable footballing machine bent on conquering the Bundesliga at all costs. They have yet to be toppled this season, and unfortunately for Eintracht Frankfurt, that streak does not look set to end just yet.

Frankfurt are going to put on a brave performance at home, but Bayern Munich have a point to prove -- and that probably won’t end well for the hosts.

To be fair to Frankfurt, they’re enjoying a solid start to their season. They sit eighth in the Bundesliga table thanks to a trio of strong wins, especially an eye-opening win over Bayer Leverkusen in September. Their squad is something of a rag-tag assemblage of talent, castoffs from clubs around Germany and Europe who have found a home and some degree of success together. They’re going to put on as brave a performance as they can, and they’re going to give Bayern as hard a fight as they can.
But there’s a hard fight and there’s reality. Yes, Bayern looked decidedly mediocre before the break when they slumped their way to a draw with Köln, but they’re still Bayern freakin’ Munich, the most talented team in Germany by a long stretch. Even their reserves could probably beat Frankfurt if that’s the direction that manager Carlo Ancelotti chooses to go in -- but don’t expect Bayern to go that easy. They want a win, they want a big win, and that’s not something Frankfurt are going to enjoy very much.
