Surviving Chapecoense player wakes up from coma, asks who won Copa Sudamericana
Neto didn’t know what happened or why he couldn’t play.

Two weeks after the plane carrying Chapecoense to the Copa Sudamericana final crashed in Colombia, one of three surviving players awoke from a coma. Neto has finally regained consciousness, and what he said after waking up is a bit heartbreaking.
Upon gaining consciousness after almost two weeks, Neto asked who won the final of the Copa Sudamericana and why he was unable to play, team doctor Edson Stakonski said.
The other two surviving players, Alan Ruschel and Jackson Follmann, have been deemed well enough to travel back to Brazil. Neto will remain in the hospital for a while longer, and has not yet been informed of the full details of the accident.
