Barcelona vs. Espanyol 2016 live stream: Time, TV schedule, and how to watch online

The Derbi Barceloni is a highly underrated clash of Barcelona’s two best teams, and this particular match could prove to be a wildly entertaining affair.

There are some local rivalries involving a big club that often go unnoticed because the second team is of a much lower stature, and that’s the case with the Derbi Barceloni between Barcelona and Espanyol. But that doesn’t change the fact that it’s often been an incredibly entertaining rivalry, because despite being the “kid brother” of the relationship, Espanyol has never backed down from their juggernaut rivals.

Barcelona have utterly dominated the rivalry, with 93 wins in the 163 competitive clashes in their Derbi, and Espanyol haven’t beaten them since the 2008-2009 season. But this year’s Espanyol side is a very different one, one that can give Barcelona a lot of trouble — they’re well-structured in midfield, and their attacking trio of Gerard Moreno, Leo Baptistao, and Pablo Piatti is an extremely potent one.

Espanyol have managed to avoid defeat since late September, and they’re not going to be terribly eager to drop points now, no matter who they’re facing -- Barcelona had better be on their toes, because this match is primed for a big upset if they lose any focus at all.
