Before the match

It’s early in La Liga’s season, but Saturday’s edition of El Clásico feels like a near must-win for Barcelona. The league’s top teams don’t drop many points, and a loss to Real Madrid could leave the gap at the top of the table looking insurmountable.

Madrid enters the match on 33 points, while Barca sits on 27. The Blaugrana were keeping pace until recently, when they dropped points in their last two matches. They were extremely unlucky in their 0-0 draw with Málaga, but the opposite was the case last week, when they were fortunate just to get a point against a superior Real Sociedad side.

Los Merengues are cruising on top of La Liga despite losing some key players to injuries. Casemiro has been missing over the last month but could play a part in the Clásico on Saturday. One player who won’t be suiting up is Gareth Bale -- he had ankle surgery this week and is unlikely to play again before April.

The game kicks off at 10:15 p.m. ET, 4:15 p.m. local time from Camp Nou in Barcelona, and you can watch on beIN Sports in the United States. The game is streaming on beIN Sports Connect. If your provider doesn’t give you access to that, the game is also available on paid services Fubo and Sling. For listings from other countries, check out LiveSoccerTV.
