Lionel Messi ruins defender, tricks Celta Vigo on penalty

Lionel Messi humiliated a defender to earn a penalty, then fooled their entire team when he stepped up to the spot.

Barcelona were already up 3-1 on Celta Vigo when they earned a penalty in the 81st minute. Lionel Messi drew the penalty and stepped up to the spot to take the shot -- and then instead of shooting it he did something a little bit different.

That’s right -- instead of scoring himself, Messi laid the ball off for an onrushing Luis Suarez to score. Suarez was sitting on a hat trick, so it makes sense in that regard. They can get away with wanting to give him the goal because it’s Messi and they’re freaking Barcelona and they do what they want.

And how did Messi earn that penalty, you ask? You’ll want to see this.

That’s just rude. Poor Jonny will never be able to face anyone again after getting worked like that. If he just disappears off the face of the earth tomorrow, we’ll know why.
