The Europa League has reached it’s first knockout round, and there’s plenty of action afoot. Last year’s defending champs Sevilla lead the charge as they host Norwegian side Molde after getting knocked down from the Champions League, but there’s plenty of other excellent matches to be had all day long.
Europa League 2016: Schedule and scores for Round of 32
The Europa League is back, and there should be some fantastic matches in store in the first knockout round.

From Manchester United to Borussia Dortmund to Napoli to Galatasaray, there’s a lot of excellent talent on display today. With so many matches, though, there’s too much to watch at once, so we went through the day’s schedule and found the best matches for you to watch and enjoy.
Match of the day: Fiorentina vs. Tottenham Hotspur
These two teams met in this round last season, and they burned down the house with their duels. Fiorentina earned a surprise 1-1 draw at White Hart Lane in the first leg before dominating Spurs in a 2-0 thrashing in Italy to shock much of Europe by winning the tie. This time they’re starting off at the Stadio Artemio Franchi in Florence, and with both teams looking much different than a year ago but at least as good as they were then, we should be hoping for a performance just as good. Can Spurs get the revenge they so dearly desire? We’re about to find out.
Too close to call: Villarreal vs. Napoli
Napoli are among the favorites to win the Europa League this season, and for good reason. They’re a very, very talented team with the most in-form striker in Europe in Gonzalo Higuain and plenty of other quality across the squad as well. But Villarreal are a sorely underrated team who are an excellent match for Napoli, and could knock Napoli out of the competition before they get anywhere near the final. Will Maurizio Sarri and company overcome their latest challenge, or will they fall just short like they did against Juventus last weekend?
Champions League dropout to be upset: Olympiakos
Olympiakos have been a steady stream of disappointment over the last few years in Europe, and this tie against Anderlecht has a chance to be their latest and perhaps greatest shortcoming yet. Anderlecht may not be a team at the front of many fans’ minds, but that doesn’t change that they’re a very talented team in their own right, one of the sides that has benefited from the steady improvement in Belgian football. Especially with the advantage of their rowdy home fans in the first leg, Anderlecht look like a very capable team of stepping up and taking Olympiakos down another peg or two.
