Franz Beckenbauer one of 6 men under FIFA investigation for allegedly buying World Cup votes
It’s at least 10 years too late, but FIFA’s finally looking into Germany’s World Cup bid.

FIFA’s ethics committee, having finished with Sepp Blatter and Michel Platini, is moving on to other targets. The legendary Franz Beckenbauer is one of six men under investigation for their alleged involvement in buying votes for the 2006 World Cup in Germany. Beckenbauer was president of the organizing committee and has admitted to making “mistakes” in the bidding process, but disputes allegations that he had any role in a money-for-votes scheme.
