Canada are in extraordinarily good shape to make the Hexagonal round of World Cup qualifying, having beaten Honduras at home and drawn away to El Salvador. They can strengthen their position on Friday if they figure out how to get points off Mexico at home.

El Tri won their first two qualifying games, and should coast into the Hex even if Canada turn in a spectacular performance and get a result in this game. Mexico might even be willing to experiment a bit, as they’re likely looking ahead to this summer’s Copa America.
Eduardo Herrera appears to be an El Tri mainstay at this point, keeping Giovani dos Santos, Oribe Peralta and Carlos Vela out of the Mexico setup. 20-year-old Chivas standout Orbelín Pineda has been called in, and could receive his first cap on Friday. Canada is mostly full strength, and is expected to hand a first cap to Scottish-Canadian Scott Arfield.
How to watch online: Because of the direct overlap with the United States men’s national team game and American college basketball tournaments, this game isn’t online in English in the places you’re used to seeing it. However, you can catch it online in Spanish on Univision Deportes en vivo. The game is also available on paid streaming services like Fubo and Sling.
