Fabian Espindola takes MLS Player of the Week honors for Week 6

Finally, something goes right for D.C. United.

The SB Nation voters have spoken, and after a commanding D.C. United win over the Vancouver Whitecaps, Fabian Espindola is MLS Player of the Week for Week 6.

Espindola had the opening two goals in the 4-0 win, and bested Sporting Kansas City goalkeeper Tim Melia (who equaled Espindola in first-place votes) by virtue of more second and third-place votes from the panel.

Otherwise, the field was pretty mixed, with a whole lot of players around the league garnering votes, San Jose’s Quincy Amarikwa the leader among the rest of the pack.
