Manchester City will hope to make it four Premier League wins on the bounce when they travel to play struggling Newcastle United on Tuesday. Manuel Pellegrini's men have leapfrogged Arsenal into third place on the back of their recent good form, and will be looking to guarantee their qualification for next season's Champions League as quickly as possible. They'll get few better chances of adding three points to their tally than this.

Manchester City will look to continue their good run against struggling Newcastle United on Tuesday.

That said, Newcastle United -- who currently sit second-bottom of the Premier League table -- head into this match on the back of their first win since February, with Rafael Benítez having overseen his first win since replacing Steve McClaren at home to Swansea City on the weekend. The Magpies will be hoping to pull off a great upset, knowing a win would move them level on points with Norwich City and safety.
Key player: Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City)
With the exception of striker Sergio Agüero, Kevin De Bruyne has been Manchester City's most standout performer this season. The playmaker is proving to have been worth every penny paid to prise him from Wolfsburg in the summer, and at 24 years old, he's still got plenty of time to improve. Strong and technically superb, he could well make mincemeat of this dodgy Newcastle defence.
Recent history
The signs are ominous for Newcastle: They've lost their last two games against City with a combined aggregate scoreline of 11-1. Not since 2005 have the Magpies beaten City in the league -- a victory that came so long ago that Michael Owen and Alan Shearer comprised Newcastle's strike force that day. They went on to finish the season in seventh, while City -- before their big money takeover -- came home in 15th.
Newcastle United injuries and suspensions
Out: Tim Krul, Massadio Haïdara, Rob Elliott (knee); Kevin Mbabu (thigh); Fabricio Coloccini (calf); Daryl Janmaat (groin); Steven Taylor (unspecified muscular injury). In doubt: None.
Manchester City injuries and suspensions
Out: Samir Nasri (knock). In doubt: Gaël Clichy (back); David Silva (ankle); Raheem Sterling (groin); Vincent Kompany (calf).
Newcastle will certainly be without seven members of their first-team squad, including their first- and second-preference goalkeepers Krul and Elliott, former club captain Coloccini and starting right-back Janmaat.
Manchester City look likely to be without the on-form Nasri, who picked up a knock in the win over Chelsea on the weekend. However, Pellegrini will hope to have four familiar faces back after injury problems, including captain Kompany and attackers Silva and Sterling.
