Bayern Munich will be expecting to move a step closer to lifting the Bundesliga title with a win at home to Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday. Pep Guardiola's side head into the round five points clear of Borussia Dortmund at the top of the table, and with games running out for the second-placed side to close the gap, another Bavarian triumph seems increasingly inevitable.

Though Frankfurt are unlikely to come away with any points, they’re still going to be fighting for their lives. That’s because a recent run of poor form has seen them slide into the relegation zone, with only tiebreakers standing between them and safety. It’s certainly going to be a nervy end to the season for Niko Kovač‘s men. Though they’re going to need to start picking up points soon, they’d do well just to avoid a heavy defeat at the Allianz on Saturday.

Key player: Robert Lewandowski (Bayern Munich)

Robert Lewandowski scored the only goal of the game as Bayern won away at Köln before the international break, nudging his Bundesliga tally up to 25 for the campaign. He's netted a remarkable 38 times for club and country so far this season, and you'd be brave to bet against the Polish striker making the difference again when Frankfurt come to town.

Recent history

Frankfurt will be taking heart from the surprisingly good result they recorded at home to Bayern in the reverse fixture, when they held Guardiola’s men to a goalless draw. That ended a run of six straight Bavarian successes in meetings between these sides. Not since March 2010 have Frankfurt managed to beat Bayern; and one has to go back to 2000 -- when the Bavarians played their domestic football at Munich’s Olympiastadion -- for the last time Frankfurt recorded an away win against the German giants.

Bayern Munich injuries and suspensions

Out: Jérôme Boateng (groin); Holger Badstuber (ankle). In doubt: None.

Eintracht Frankfurt injuries and suspensions

Out: Anderson Bamba, Johannes Flum, Alexander Meier (knee); Slobodan Medojević (Achilles). In doubt: None.

Bayern will still be without defenders Boateng and Badstuber, but should otherwise have a full-strength team available. Frankfurt will be without defender Bamba, midfielders Flum and Medojević and attacker Meier.
