Liverpool will look to make it three Premier League wins in a row when they take on Everton in Wednesday's Merseyside derby. Jürgen Klopp's side are now up to eighth place in the table, and could finish the day as high as sixth if results go their way. They've looked increasingly impressive over the last few weeks, and home advantage guarantees them favorite status heading into this encounter with their bitterest rivals.

Liverpool will look to continue their good form against an out-of-form Everton in Wednesday’s Merseyside derby.

They take on an Everton team that have only won nine games all season, and not since they beat the division's basement club Aston Villa in March. Roberto Martínez's side have had a deeply disappointing campaign, and their only saving grace has been their impressive away form. They've lost only twice away from Goodison Park so far this season, and will look to extend that impressive record away at Anfield. That, however, is far easier said than done.
Key player: Philippe Coutinho (Liverpool)
Liverpool's Brazilian playmaker Philippe Coutinho has been his side's most impressive performer this season, and has hit peak form over the last few weeks. He's netted four goals in his last five matches in all competitions, and will surely fancy his chances of extending that hot streak against an Everton defense that isn't exactly watertight.
Recent history
Remarkably, six of the last seven Merseyside derbies have ended in draws, with Liverpool winning the only exception 4-0 at Anfield in Jan. 2014. Before that run of ties started, Liverpool generally managed to get the better of the Toffees, and not since 1999 have Everton managed to win away at Anfield.
Liverpool injuries and suspensions
Out: Joe Gomez, Danny Ings, Christian Benteke, Jordan Henderson (knee); Jordan Rossiter (hamstring); Emre Can (ankle); Kolo Touré (unspecified muscular injured). In doubt: Divock Origi (back).
Everton injuries and suspensions
Out: Tyias Browning, Tony Hibbert (knee); Séamus Coleman (hamstring). In doubt: Phil Jagielka, Aaron Lennon (hamstring); Tom Cleverley (knock); Leighton Baines (groin).
Liverpool still have a lengthy injury list, including first-choice midfielders Henderson and Can. However, they could have Belgian striker Origi back after a back problem.
Everton will be missing three right backs in Coleman, Browning and Hibbert, who are their only certain absentees. They’ll be hoping to have defenders Jagielka and Baines, and midfielders Cleverley and Lennon back available after minor injuries.
