Kekuta Manneh takes MLS Player of the Week for Week 11

The possible future American international made some good plays.

Tom Szczerbowski-USA TODAY Sports

Kekuta Manneh had a pretty good week in MLS.

The Vancouver Whitecaps winger played a role in both of his team’s wins last week, assisting Blas Perez’s eye-popping bicycle-kick winner midweek against Chicago, before taking the spotlight himself, scoring two and assisting on another in Vancouver’s 4-3 win at Toronto FC, in the most entertaining game of the season to date.

As a result of his exploits, Manneh has been voted SB Nation’s MLS Player of the Week for Week 11.

It wasn’t very close, either, with only Sebastian Giovinco, who notched two goals and an assist himself in that 4-3 game, even remotely close to Manneh among our voters. It’s OK, I’ve got a hunch Giovinco may have another good game or two to come this year.

Full results for Week 11, with first-place votes getting three points, second-place votes receiving two points and third-place votes earning a point each:

Player Points
Kekuta Manneh 25
Sebastian Giovinco 13
Walker Zimmerman 5
Tommy McNamara 4
