The United States men’s national team had their first pre-Copa America friendly over the weekend when they took on Puerto Rico, but Wednesday night’s game represents their first proper warm-up for the competition. MLS and some other foreign-based players who were out for the weekend have arrived, and Jurgen Klinsmann will field close to a first-choice team against Ecuador.

The USMNT has a big test on Wednesday.

Klinsmann will have been thrilled that some of the players he expects to make a big impact at Copa -- particularly Alejandro Bedoya and Bobby Wood -- performed well against Puerto Rico. But with the USMNT's biggest stars making their way home in recent years, most of the United States starting XI will be MLS-based, and just joining up for this game.
Ecuador has exceeded expectations so far in CONMEBOL World Cup qualifying, and they currently sit second. West Ham's Enner Valencia, Manchester United's Antonio Valencia and Swansea's Jefferson Montero are among their big-name stars leading them into Copa America.
