The United States men’s national team got three points in their must-win game over Costa Rica during the last round of Copa America fixtures and did it in style. Not only was their 4-0 victory over the Ticos important for perception of the team, but for goal differential too. They face Paraguay in their last group stage game on Saturday, and thanks to that big win over Costa Rica, they’re almost certainly into the Copa America quarterfinals with a draw.

Paraguay still have a lot to play for, with one point from their first two games. If they win, they’ll probably go through, though Costa Rica has less of a gap to make up to them than they do to the USMNT. With a draw or a loss, Paraguay will be eliminated.

The United States got a boost when Óscar Romero was sent off for Paraguay in their last match. He'll be suspended for Saturday's game. The USMNT has no suspensions, and Jurgen Klinsmann says every member of his squad is fit.
