UEFA hands Russia suspended disqualification from Euro 2016

Maybe they’ll wise up now.

UEFA threatened Russia with expulsion from Euro 2016 for fan violence, and they look like they’re willing to follow through. They’ve handed Russia a suspended disqualification, meaning the Russians can continue to play, but will be thrown out of the tournament if there are any more problems.

On Monday, one Russian politician told hooligans to keep it up, saying they were fighting for their country’s honor. He might change his tune a bit now.
