Portugal and Austria meet on Saturday, with both sides having something to prove after disappointing opening performances. The former were held to a 1-1 draw by an impressive Iceland, leading captain Cristiano Ronaldo to blast their “small mentality” in the game’s aftermath. In reality, however, Ronaldo was likely as frustrated with his own performance as Iceland’s, having blown several good opportunities to seal the win.

Portugal and Austria will both be hoping for their first win when they meet on Saturday.

But while Portugal's problem is one of finishing, Austria's may well be more fundamental. Marcel Koller's side were identified by many as one of the tournament's dark horses, though they were totally outclassed in an opening 2-0 defeat to unfancied Hungary. The result is that they'll likely need to get something from this difficult match to stand a chance of making it through into the knockout stages and avoid falling at the first hurdle.
This game has all of the perfect ingredients: Two teams chasing their victory, a smattering of star quality in Ronaldo and David Alaba, and plenty of urgency on both sides. That could mean it’s going to be a cagey contest, but it could also mean that we’re in for fireworks. It’s not to be missed.
