The Euro 2016 fortunes of neighbours Ukraine and Poland -- who jointly hosted the championships four years ago -- have contrasted wildly so far. The latter have enjoyed a successful start to the campaign, convincingly defeating Northern Ireland on the opening matchday before holding reigning World Cup winners Germany to a goalless draw in their second fixture. They head into their final game knowing that even a defeat would likely see them into the knockout round.

Poland head into their encounter with neighbours Ukraine as strong favourites.

By contrast, Ukraine have endured a difficult campaign, suffering two defeats in their first two matches. They certainly weren’t humiliated in their opener against Germany, though failed to take their goal-scoring chances and were sucker punched at the death in a 2-0 loss. Rather more embarrassing, however, was their defeat to an average Northern Ireland side last time out. As a result, they are eliminated and have no chance of progressing into the next round.
The Ukraine defense will have a particularly tricky task, with both Robert Lewandowski and his strike partner Arkadiusz Milik having looked dangerous at the tournament so far. Few better sides in France can boast a stronger strike pairing, and it wouldn't come as a surprise to see them make their firepower count in Marseille.
