England FA officials question Roy Hodgson’s judgment as he fights for new contract
The Three Lions boss is coming under question for making six changes and dropping Wayne Rooney.

Roy Hodgson is apparently desperate for a new contract that will keep him as England manager through the 2018 World Cup, but it doesn’t look like he’s going to get it at the moment, for reasons that go beyond results.
While five points from group play certainly isn’t the end of the world, senior leadership at the FA is apparently concerned about the logic behind Hodgson’s decisions. He made six changes against Slovakia, with his decisions contributing to an attack that failed to produce a goal. Those changes, more than poor results, have Hodgson on the hot seat.
