    USMNT loses to Colombia, finishes 4th in Copa

    On Saturday night, the United States men’s national team played much better than they did in their Copa America semifinal loss. They were much better against Colombia in the third place game than they were against Los Cafeteros in the group stage as well. But despite this being the best performance out of those three matches, the result was the same -- a shutout loss. Carlos Bacca scored the only goal for either side in Colombia’s 1-0 win.

    James Rodriguez set up the winner in the 31st minute with a brilliant chip into the box that found the head of Santiago Arias. He nodded towards the center of the box, where Bacca just barely got a touch, but it was enough to direct the ball into the back of the net.

    How to watch USMNT vs. Colombia

    The United States men’s national team was eliminated from Copa America in fairly embarrassing fashion this week, falling 4-0 to Argentina while failing to register a single shot attempt. But Copa America has a third place game for some reason (money), meaning they have a chance for redemption against Colombia.

    That semifinal featured a long rain delay, but Colombia was seriously outclassed by Chile before the bad weather set in, then never recovered in their 2-0 loss.
