The United States men’s national team was eliminated from Copa America in fairly embarrassing fashion this week, falling 4-0 to Argentina while failing to register a single shot attempt. But Copa America has a third place game for some reason (money), meaning they have a chance for redemption against Colombia.

These teams met in the opening game of the tournament, with Los Cafeteros coasting to a relatively easy 2-0 victory. However, the Americans improved after that, while Colombia went backwards. The United States won Group A, then won their quarterfinal in regular time. Coming off a loss to Costa Rica, Colombia had to rely on penalties after a 0-0 draw to make the semifinal.

That semifinal featured a long rain delay, but Colombia was seriously outclassed by Chile before the bad weather set in, then never recovered in their 2-0 loss.

Expect both teams to make some changes and take some risks in this game, since they both have nothing to lose.
