Robert Lewandowski scores 2nd-fastest goal in European Championship history

Poland’s superstar couldn’t have picked a better time to start scoring.

Since Poland just barely snuck by Switzerland in their last game, all the focus has been on Robert Lewandowski. He's Poland's best player, but he hasn't been scoring -- or even shooting. On Thursday, he took a shot less than 100 seconds into his team's Euro 2016 quarterfinal against Portugal, and he scored it.

That’s the exact kind of tidy, technical first-touch finish Lewandowski’s become known for. And it was the second-fastest goal ever at the European Championships, just a few seconds slower than Dimitri Kirichenko’s goal for Russia at Euro 2002.
