Liverpool will look to bounce back from their International Champions Cup defeat to Chelsea with a win over AC Milan in California on Saturday. Jürgen Klopp's side are now deep into their preseason preparations, having seen off four of England's lower league sides before arriving in the States. That should give them a fitness advantage over AC Milan, though the Italian outfit earned a 3-3 draw with Bayern Munich on Thursday in only their second friendly under new coach Vincenzo Montella.

Jürgen Klopp is taking the opportunity afforded by preseason to blood many of his side's young talents, and Kevin Stewart in particular will be looking to impress. That's because the former Tottenham Hotspur trainee will consider himself to be in with a chance of earning a spot in the first team, having made a total of seven Premier League appearances as a backup defensive midfielder last season.
Fun AC Milan fringe player to watch: Suso
Ex-Liverpool reserve Suso will look to show his old club what they've been missing, with Montella set to hand the Spaniard his first real opportunity in the AC Milan first team this campaign. The 22-year-old spent last season on loan at Genoa, where he chipped in with an impressive six league goals from attacking midfield despite only making 15 starts. He's a serious talent, and could make a real difference for Milan.
Compared to other friendlies, is this worth my time?
There is plenty of optimism for the upcoming season for both of these teams. AC Milan have a new, talented young coach; Liverpool have plenty of new faces and a wily old head on the bench. It’ll be interesting as a progress report, but nothing more. 5/10.
