Brazil has never won the Olympic gold medal in men’s soccer, and they were expected to capture it for the first time at Rio 2016. But two games into the tournament, they’ve drawn 0-0 twice, and find themselves in a hole. They need to beat Denmark on Wednesday night, and in impressive fashion to get the fans off their backs.
Brazil vs. Denmark 2016 live stream: Time, TV schedule and how to watch Olympic soccer online
Neymar and co. have their backs against the wall in the final group stage game.

The game kicks off at 9 p.m. ET, and you can catch it on NBCSN. It’s also streaming live online at NBCOlympics.com.
At the center of the criticism of Brazil is Neymar, the captain of both this under-23 team and the senior Selecao. He’s emerged as one of the top players in the world since moving to Barcelona, but he’s struggled to create for his teammates and create shots for himself. His attacking mates (Felipe Anderson, Gabriel Jesus and Gabigol) haven’t been any better, but the blame falls on him as the country’s biggest sporting icon.
Denmark enters this game with four points, and knows that they only need a draw to advance to the knockout rounds. A draw will also win them the group unless Iraq beats South Africa by multiple goals. It’s possible for Brazil to advance with a draw, but they’d need Iraq to draw as well, and to score more goals than Iraq. If Brazil and Iraq end Wednesday’s games with the exact same score draw, they will be tied by every marker and second place will be determined by a random drawing.
