Hull City was a big underdog in the opening match of the Premier League season against defending champions Leicester City, but they pulled off a stunning 2-1 victory. Their opening goal was this one, off a bicycle kick by Abel Hernández. Adama Diomondé actually got credit for the goal, getting his toe to the ball while it was still dancing on the line to make sure it crossed.
Bicycle kick helps Hull upset Leicester in Premier League opener

Leicester got back into the match with a penalty kick converted by Riyad Mahrez, but Robert Snodgrass found a winner for the Tigers in the 57th minute.
It’s been a rough offseason for Hull City following their promotion from the Championship. Owner Assem Allam is looking to sell the club, partially due to the FA denying his petition to change the team’s name from Hull City AFC to Hull Tigers. Because he’s not going to be around long, he’s refused to spend money in the transfer market. Between that and a large number of injuries, Hull’s bench was almost entirely youth players on Saturday and interim manager Mike Phelan — in charge because Steve Bruce quit due to Allam’s refusal to invest — made zero substitutions.
If Hull City are going to stay up, they’re going to need to pull a lot of upsets all season long. Every point counts. These are three huge ones.
