Watch Neymar score the fastest goal in Olympics history

15 seconds!

Eric Seals-USA TODAY Sports

It’s been a tough Olympics for Neymar. Brazil legend Zico has said he shouldn’t be the team’s captain, while numerous children crossed his name off their No. 10 jerseys and wrote Marta on them instead. But Brazil is in the gold medal match in men’s soccer, thanks to this goal 15 seconds into their semifinal against Honduras.

This goal was just the start of Neymar’s fantastic day. They won the match 6-0, with Neymar recording one more goal, plus two assists and contributions on the build-up play for Brazil’s other two goals, too. He’s answered his critics loudly.

But one big task remains -- winning Brazil’s first ever gold medal in soccer. They’ll take on the winner of the other semifinal between Nigeria and Germany for the gold in Rio on Saturday.
