The bronze medal match of the 2016 Olympics women's soccer tournament is not something that either of these teams wanted to be in, but Brazil and Canada will have to make do with the chance to win third place instead of battling each other for gold.
Brazil vs. Canada 2016 live stream: How to watch Olympic soccer bronze medal game online
The bronze medal match may not have the teams we expected, but that might just make it all the better.

That might make the match even more highly charged and intense than it would be if these two teams were playing for gold, though. Brazil and Canada are two of the best women’s sides in the world, and both will want to prove that they belonged in the more important game and that getting knocked down to the bronze medal match was a fluke.
This is also a massively important game for the two teams’ biggest stars. This is almost certainly the last Olympics for Christine Sinclair, the biggest legend in Canadian soccer of either gender -- at 33 years old and with this being her 250th international cap including youth international games, she probably doesn’t have the gas left in the tank to keep playing at a high enough level four years from now. This could also be the last Olympics ride for Marta, who is three years younger but also has a ton of hard miles and a few injuries to consider. One last medal would be huge for either woman to earn, and both teams will fight all the harder to make it happen.
