Though the third-place playoff is traditionally a rather poorly contested affair at international football tournaments, that's not the case in the Olympics. With a bronze medal at stake, Honduras and Nigeria will certainly be fighting tooth and nail in Belo Horizonte on Saturday, with both sides likely to be confident after impressive runs to the latter stages.
Honduras vs. Nigeria 2016: Time, TV schedule and news for Olympic soccer bronze medal
Nigeria are favourites heading into their clash with Honduras in the men’s football bronze medal match.

The game kicks off at Noon ET. You can watch online and on your mobile device on NBC’s Olympics coverage.
Nigeria head in as favourites, with the side -- captained by Chelsea veteran John Obi Mikel -- having already had previous success at the Olympics. They won gold in 1996, and finished as runners-up to Argentina back in Beijing eight years ago. They’re a nation who enjoy this tournament, and have a track record of fine young talent; they’d sure to be disappointed if they were to miss out on a medal through defeat to a Honduras side whose previous best at the games was seventh place.
While Honduras have done exceptionally well to reach this stage of the competition, they were hammered 6-0 by home nation Brazil in the last round. For their part, Nigeria restricted a talented Germany team to just a two-goal margin of victory, which could mean the African side have a slightly more confident attitude heading into this encounter.
