Diego Maradona got stopped for allegedly having a fake passport and he’s mad

We can’t imagine that Diego Maradona would ever try to get away with traveling as Not Diego Maradona, but who knows.

Diego Maradona was traveling this weekend, but got stopped by authorities who claimed his passport was stolen. Presumably, Diego Maradona is a pretty recognizable person and is difficult to mix up with someone who is not Diego Maradona, which is why the Argentina legend thinks he was harassed as part of a politically motivated stunt.

“I won’t let anyone control my life,” Maradona said. “For 15 years, I’ve done what I want and no-one can tell me what to do. This complaint for theft is nonsense. My lawyer will be responsible for investigating this lie, which has been orchestrated by some politician.”

Argentina is wild.
