Reigning Olympic men's football champions Mexico kicked off their title defence with a solid if unspectacular 2-2 draw with Germany on Thursday. They twice took the lead against what should be one of the strongest sides in the tournament, only to relinquish their advantage on both occasions. Still, they should have plenty of confidence heading into their second group game in Salvador on Sunday, when they take on tournament minnows Fiji.
Mexico vs. Fiji, Olympics 2016: Time, TV schedule and team news
Mexico should have no problem defeating Fiji on Sunday.

The game kicks off at 12 p.m. ET, and you can watch online and on your mobile device on NBC Sports Live Extra.
Fiji made their Olympic football debut on Thursday, and unfortunately didn’t cover themselves in glory. The South Pacific islanders were demolished 8-0 by a ruthless South Korea, leaving them bottom of the group after one round of games. They’re unlikely to fare much better against a Mexico side that should be an even tougher matchup: anything other than a big Mexico win against Fiji would be a great surprise.
