The United States are set to wrap up their group stage in the 2016 Olympics women’s soccer tournament with a low-stakes match against Colombia. Advancement is already secure thanks to wins over France and New Zealand, giving the USWNT the freedom to rotate their squad to rest key figures, and to just go out and have fun.
USA vs. Colombia 2016 live stream: How to watch Olympic soccer online
The USWNT are set to finish up their 2016 Olympics group stage run against a team they’ve gotten used to beating.
Of course, Colombia won’t be eager to let the U.S. have their way. Colombia are winless in the Olympics, falling to both France and New Zealand earlier in the group stage, and they’d love to avenge a 7-0 thrashing the USWNT gave them in April. For all those struggles, Colombia were one of the big surprises of the Women’s World Cup, upsetting France and drawing with Mexico to get out of the group stage before getting knocked out by, you guessed it, the United States. Getting anything out of this match would be a measure of revenge for Colombia, one they will fight to the final whistle to get.
