Bayern Munich vs. Rostov 2016 live stream: Time, TV schedule and how to watch Champions League online

It’s time for Carlo Ancelotti to get his first Champions League campaign as the manager of Bayern Munich underway.

The Carlo Ancelotti era at Bayern Munich is well underway, but in some ways this match will be his first major test as the manager of the German giants. It will be his first Champions League match with his new team, and while Russian side FK Rostov aren’t the most fearsome opponent around, all eyes will be closely watching what Bayern do in this game.

While the kings of Bavaria are off to an undefeated start in their domestic campaign and have yet to give up a goal, there’s still a sense that they haven’t completely found their footing yet since Ancelotti took over. That’s not to say that they’ve been poor by any means -- Bayern have, obviously, been very good. You don’t score 15 goals in four games while giving up none without being very, very good. But they’ve also looked surprisingly vulnerable at times, relying on late defensive breakdowns to beat Schalke and Borussia Dortmund while looking like they were in genuine danger for stretches of both matches.

Rostov are likely not on the level of either of Bayern’s Bundesliga rivals, but they’re a tough team nonetheless. They earned their way to the group stage after finishing second in the competitive environment of the Russian Premier League and shouldering aside Ajax and Anderlecht in qualifying action. If Bayern’s focus and attention slip at all, they could be in a world of trouble before they can blink -- and questions will quickly start to fly if they don’t soundly beat their Russian foes. Ancelotti wants to avoid such questions, so don’t expect him to pull any punches in this match.
