Unlike their European counterparts, South America's World Cup 2018 qualification is now well under way, with Argentina setting the pace after the first seven rounds. However, only a couple of points separates the table-toppers from sixth-place Paraguay, so even the biggest teams can't afford to take their eye off the ball just yet.

Argentina will look to maintain their winning momentum when they travel to Venezuela on Tuesday.

It is with that in mind that Argentina will look to plow on with a victory away at bottom-ranked outfit Venezuela on Tuesday, in what is only coach Edgardo Bauza's second match in charge. With Bauza having recently replaced Tata Martino -- whose side were defeated by Chile in the final of the Copa América Centenario -- Argentina are rather optimistically hoping that the problems that have dogged the team of late, and which threatened to end the international careers of several star players, are behind them.
Though the likes of Gonzalo Higuaín, Sergio Agüero and Lionel Messi are all absent for the time being, other familiar faces including Javier Mascherano and Ángel Di María are present and correct. Though Argentina were defeated on their last visit to Venezuela, they otherwise enjoy a thoroughly dominant record against a side that is traditionally one of the weakest in South American international football. Anything other than a win would come as a big disappointment.
