MLS draft 2017 live stream: Start time and how to watch the SuperDraft online
One of the most important days of the MLS calendar is finally here.

The MLS SuperDraft was once the highlight of the offseason in MLS. Now, with a burgeoning academy system growing in MLS, the level of talent coming in via the draft may not quite be what it was, but that doesn’t negate the fact that the SuperDraft is still very important for MLS teams.
Throughout the course of the draft, 88 players will be selected to MLS rosters. Not all of them will make those rosters come the opening matchday, and many could spend most, or all of their season, with USL affiliate teams instead. Some may never play a single minute in MLS. But many will, and some of those players will have a huge impact on their respective teams. This draft is going to help shape the professional careers of those 88 young men, and for them this day could not be any bigger.
On Friday, the first two rounds of picks will be made, the first 44 picks overall, starting with picks made by the two newest MLS expansion teams, Minnesota United and Atlanta United. The final two rounds will be conducted via teleconference on Tuesday, January 17th, though most of the players who will have an impactful MLS career will be taken on Friday. Of course, there’s always exceptions to that, so you should never count out any of the young players your team brings in.
