Between his slow start and the number of miles on his legs, many wondered if 35-year-old Zlatan Ibrahimovic was the right signing for Manchester United this summer. He proved his worth yet again in the northwest derby, scoring a late equalizer for his team to salvage a point against Liverpool.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic scores 10th goal in 10 games for Manchester United vs. Liverpool
United’s big striker is their hero again.

While United started strong, they looked mostly disjointed after giving up a first-half penalty, and struggled to put together dangerous attacks in the second half. Most of their threatening moves were more of the scrappy variety, and this certainly qualified.
Antonio Valencia was offside on the initial cross into the box, which the referee’s assistant should have spotted, but that takes nothing away from Ibrahimovic. He knew nothing about that, still had to get himself into the right position, and still had to place a perfect header past Simon Mignolet, who was truly excellent all game.
This goal is Ibrahimovic’s 10th in 10 games, taking him up to 13 for the entire season. He’s the Premier League’s joint-top goal-scorer, alongside Chelsea’s Diego Costa.
While United will be disappointed that they didn’t win the game, they’ll be happy that Zlatan showed his worth at the end. He’s proving to be a big-time player, and a bargain, even at one of the league’s biggest salaries.
