The EFL Cup Final is on the horizon, and we already know who one of the teams involved will be, with Southampton triumphing over Liverpool on Wednesday. The other team, however, has yet to be determined, with Manchester United and Hull City still to finish their own semifinal tie — though it’s certainly looking a little one-sided.

Manchester hold a 2-0 lead after the first leg a little over two weeks ago, and given the up-and-down form that Hull are in, it doesn’t look like the Tigers are in any shape to mount a serious challenge. The only good news for Hull is that this match isn’t being played at Old Trafford. Hull have lost eight matches in a row away from KCOM Stadium, where they’ve lost just one in their last eight.

They’re also not keeping clean sheets at home, though, holding their opponents scoreless only once in that timespan, and giving up an away goal to Manchester United would be a death knell for their chances. United would hold a three-goal lead and the away goal tiebreaker if that happens, forcing Hull to score four times without conceding another — and Hull have not scored four goals in a match once all season. They have only scored three goals in three competitive matches this campaign.

Suffice it to say, the odds are not in Hull’s favor.
