La Liga leaders Real Madrid will be expecting to maintain their lead at the top of the table this weekend, as they play host to struggling Granada on Saturday. Zinedine Zidane's side are still the only unbeaten team in the division, and they find themselves three points and a game-in-hand clear of second-placed Barcelona heading into the weekend. It's still early, but things are looking good indeed for Madrid.

Real Madrid will be expecting all three points at home to relegation-threatened Granada on Saturday.

Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for Granada. Having only narrowly survived relegation last season, the Andalusian outfit find themselves in another messy scrap at the bottom of the table. They’ve won just one of their first 16 games since the start of the season and are already three points adrift of safety. It’s going to be a long, hard season for Lucas Alcaraz’s men.

Three big things to know
1. Real Madrid will be without Gareth Bale, Pepe, Mateo Kovačić, and Lucas Vázquez, who are all injured. Sergio Ramos is suspended, meaning Nacho and Raphaël Varane will likely form the central defensive pairing. Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, and James Rodríguez look set to start in a frightening front three.
2. Granada have been hit hard by departures to the Africa Cup of Nations, with Mehdi Carcela-González and Victorien Angban having both departed. Matthieu Saunier, Dimitri Foulquier, and Isaac Cuenca both face late fitness tests.
3. Real Madrid have won every one of their last six matches against Granada, including a 9-1 thrashing at the Bernabéu in April 2015. It’s certainly not an occasion Granada will want to remember.
