Valencia vs. Barcelona live stream: Time, TV schedule and how to watch La Liga online

Barcelona have already gotten one great piece of news this weekend, with Lionel Messi extending his contract that was set to expire soon. Now they can create even more good news for themselves by taking out the second place team in La Liga in Valencia, and give themselves some more breathing room atop the table in the process.

Valencia have been an excellent team this season, going unbeaten this season in La Liga just like Barcelona, with only two fewer wins over twelve matches keeping them four points behind them in the table. Fans have been eager to see this matchup ever since it became obvious that Valencia was going to maintain their high-level play this season, because they’ve been a lot of fun to watch.

The question, of course, is if such a fun team is going to be able to overcome the juggernaut-like power of Barcelona. The Catalans haven’t been perfect this season, but they have been as good as they’ve been in recent memory, especially on the — admittedly rare — weeks that they’re mostly healthy. They’re also fairly fresh right now after a surprisingly light match against Juventus, which should let them be at full fire against Valencia.

Both teams have one key player suspended, with Marcelino sidelined for Valencia, and Barcelona missing Gerard Pique. Valencia have the better of the injury situation, missing only Javi Jimenez, while Barcelona will be doing without Sergi Roberto, Javier Mascherano, Ousmane Dembele, Arda Turna, Rafinha, and Andre Gomes. The defensive situation is particularly tricky for Barcelona right now with Pique, Mascherano, and Roberto out — Samuel Umtiti is healthy and playing well, but Thomas Vermaelen will likely be making just his second appearance of the season, something few Barca fans will look forward to.
