With El Clasico looming just a week away, Barcelona are in need of something of a tuneup. Their form hasn’t been quite as sharp in La Liga action lately, and they’re going to want to be at their best in a matchup against their most bitter rivals. So with Deportivo La Coruña coming to the Camp Nou, Barcelona are going to be looking to get back in their groove ahead of such a huge match.

Barcelona were threatening to start running away with La Liga not too long ago, but after dropping points in two of their last three league matches and looking a little out of sorts of late, the gap has started to close. Their lead is just three points over Atletico Madrid coming into this match, and with next Saturday’s huge tilt against Real Madrid looming, Barcelona need to secure their lead and improve their form in one shot.

It’s perhaps fortunate, then, that Barcelona are set to take on Deportivo La Coruña, a team struggling along just outside the relegation zone, only outside it because they’ve managed to scrape a win last weekend against Leganes. They’ve won just four league matches all season and haven’t yet managed to as much as string together two matches where they get at least a draw. Things don’t look great for them in this matchup, especially with Barcelona starting to get healthy again while Deportivo are without a trio of important players.
