Leicester City have been having a solid bounceback season after a year of disappointments in their last campaign, and as the holiday season arrives they have a chance to cement themselves as a solid team in the Premier League and turn around a bit of a speed bump in their form, as they’re set to host Manchester United.

Of course, Manchester want to drag themselves back into the title race, where their cross-town rivals Manchester City are starting to pull away from the entire league. Coming into the weekend, United are 11 points behind City, meaning that Jose Mourinho and company can’t afford to drop any points at all any time soon, much less against a fallen former EPL champion like Leicester.

But the Foxes have their own goals to fulfill, including trying to pull themselves closer to the elite teams in the table. They’re five points behind seventh-place Tottenham Hotspur right now, and Leicester very much want to get back to and then eventually above that tier of quality as soon as they can. To do that, though, they need to turn around the lull in form that’s seen them lose two straight matches in the Premier League and League Cup, scoring just one goal and giving up four. They need to restore their confidence, and a win over Manchester United would do that and then some.
