Boxing Day in England brings us significant Premier League action, with most of the EPL set to play on a day with eight matches on tap. There’s activity all over the table, and while league leaders, Manchester City, are watching from home, there’s plenty of action that can impact the race for Champions League spots and the relegation race alike.
Boxing Day 2017: Premier League match schedule, start times, TV/streaming info
Sixteen teams are in action on a hectic EPL Boxing Day.

Tottenham Hotspur are kicking off the day hoping to keep pushing their form forward after some recent struggles while adding to Southampton’s six-match winless streak. Spurs can, with a win for themselves and a Liverpool draw or loss in their day-ending match against last-place Swansea City, pull themselves back into the top four. It’s where Tottenham want to be, while the Saints are desperate to snap their winless run and add to their just three-point cushion above the relegation zone.
Then there’s Chelsea, whose own form has been a little all over the place of late, taking on a Brighton & Hove Albion team that started the season presenting an interesting challenge, but which just snapped a seven-match winless streak of their own.
Chelsea could potentially pull even on points with second place Manchester United — who are hosting a Burnley team struggling a bit of late but who have been excellent for most of this season — and Antonio Conte will have his team laser-focused on the task at hand.
At the other end of the table is a potential relegation six-pointer, with Bournemouth hosting West Ham United, two teams that are separated by just one point in the standings. Coming into this match, Bournemouth are in the relegation zone while West Ham are the last safe team, putting tremendous weight and pressure on this match. Games like this at the bottom end of the table are often fascinating for how frantic and desperate they can be, and this one should be fun to watch because of it.
Three other matches — Watford hosting Leicester City, Huddersfield Town against Stoke, and West Bromwich Albion against Everton — occupy just about the full mid-table reach and can have a huge impact on the table in the reach between eighth and fourteenth place by the time everything is said and done. All told, there’s a lot on the line all over the table on Boxing Day, and Premier League fans will have a whole lot to enjoy as they spend their day watching football.
