Real Madrid vs. Espanyol 2017 live stream: Start time, TV schedule, and how to watch online

Real Madrid will look to extend their lead at the top of La Liga with a win over Espanyol.

La Liga leaders Real Madrid head into the weekend a point and two games-in-hand clear of Barcelona, and will be hoping to extend their advantage when they play host to Barça's Catalan rivals Espanyol on Saturday. Zinedine Zidane's side head into the game on the back of three straight league wins, and anything other than a win would be a disappointing result.

Espanyol have, however, been in good form themselves; having looked on course for a relegation struggle early in the campaign, Quique Sánchez Flores’ side have lost only three league games since October, winning three of their last four. They’re now up into the top half of the table, and may well be fancying their chances of causing an upset at the Santiago Bernabéu.

Three big things to know

1. Real Madrid have no confirmed absentees, though Sergio Ramos, Gareth Bale and Danilo are all in doubt. Toni Kroos is back after suspension, and should waltz straight back into Zidane's starting lineup.

2. Espanyol haven’t been so lucky on the injury front: Léo Baptistão, Víctor Sánchez and Marc Navarro are all certainly sidelined; Javi Fuego, José Antonio Reyes, and Pablo Piatti are all in doubt.

3. Real Madrid have won nine straight matches against Espanyol, remarkably conceding just twice in that period. Not since 1996 have Espanyol managed to win away at the Bernabéu; that season they impressively went on to finish above the Merengues in the table.
