Real Madrid vs. Eibar 2017: Time, TV schedule, and how to watch online

High-flying Eibar welcome Real Madrid to the Basque Country on Saturday.

Real Madrid's draw at home to Las Palmas in midweek enabled Barcelona to provisionally move to the top of the La Liga table. However, things are still very much in Madrid's hands: they're just a point adrift of their Catalan rivals with a game in hand. They'll hope to reclaim top spot this weekend, when they travel to face Basque outfit Eibar.

Though they'll certainly be expecting to pick up all three points, Eibar could prove to be more stubborn opponents than you'd expect. They've enjoyed an excellent season so far, defying expectations of a relegation struggle by surging up into the top half. They're just three points adrift of Villarreal and a Europa League berth heading into this match, and will be optimistic of an upset.

Three big things to know

1. Eibar's cause isn't helped by a string of absentees. Nano, Imanol Sarriegui, Asier Riesgo and Kike will all miss this match through injury; Florian Lejeune is suspended after being sent off against Real Sociedad. David Juncà and Fran Rico face late fitness tests.

2. Raphaël Varane is still sidelined for Real Madrid, while Gareth Bale and Álvaro Morata are both suspended. Full-backs Fábio Coentrão and Danilo have been on the treatment table of late, meaning Marcelo and Dani Carvajal's starting spots will likely remain uncontested.

3. Eibar’s success so far this season has been in no small part due to their home form: they’ve lost just thrice in front of their own supporters so far. Real Madrid have dropped points four times on the road, and will be hoping to avoid another slip.
