Atlanta United vs. New York Red Bulls 2017: Time, TV schedule, and live stream

Atlanta won’t have an easy time of things in their MLS debut.

We’ve already seen one of the two new teams in MLS make their debut, and now it’s time for the second new team to step onto the stage. Atlanta United FC are at home, but they face a massively difficult test in the form of the New York Red Bulls.

The Red Bulls are still stinging from their playoff disappointment from last season, losing to Montreal in a stunning conference semifinal upset. Their team has been retooled some over the winter, but at the core it’s still the same team, relying on the technique and skill from the likes of Bradley Wright-Phillips and Sacha Klejstan to help carry the high-effort but less technical players around them, all sitting in front of a very hard-nosed defense.

That defense will be challenged by Atlanta, who are bringing a quick and tricky attack spearheaded by the veteran guile of Kenwyne Jones. It’s the players behind Jones who will provide much of the threat, though, with Josef Martinez and Miguel Almiron representing an extremely high-potential duo who could make a mess of MLS defenses. They’re going to be worried about falling flat in their debut like Minnesota did — but if that attack gets rolling, they may not have to worry long.

TV: Fox Sports 1 (U.S. - English), Fox Deportes (U.S. - Spanish)

Match Date/Time: Sunday, 7:30 p.m. ET

Venue: Bobby Dodd Stadium, Atlanta
