Barcelona vs. Sevilla 2017 live stream: Time, TV channel, and how to watch online

Barcelona need to keep pace with Real Madrid, but Sevilla won’t make that easy.

Sevilla may not be in the title race in La Liga right now, but they have an opportunity to play spoiler in that race, with a match against Barcelona at the Camp Nou on the cards. A loss for the blaugranes would be a bitter blow in their chase of Real Madrid right now, and one they can ill-afford to take.

Right now, Barcelona trail the league leaders by two points, with Real Madrid also holding a game in hand. That could potentially see the lead extend to five points without Barcelona being able to do anything about it, so they cannot afford to drop any points right now, even to a tough fourth-place team like Sevilla.

Unfortunately, Barcelona’s schedule isn’t getting easy — their next two La Liga matches are in Malaga and against Real Sociedad, one a tough place to play and the other a surprisingly difficult opponent this season. Add in a Champions League quarterfinal tie against Juventus, and there’s a ton of pressure starting to mount on a Barcelona squad that’s struggled under pressure at times this season, and they can’t afford any slip up right now.

Barcelona are without Lionel Messi because of a painful suspension, and a pair of important depth players in Arda Turan and Alexis Vidal are both out injured. That will be tricky to deal with, but at least they’re better off than Sevilla, who will be without a key defensive trio with both Gabriel Mercado and Adil Rami hurt, plus Sergio Ecudero suspended. Add in a big question mark for the health of Stevan Jovetic, and Sevilla may just not have the firepower they need to get the job done.
