The United States women’s national team reached a new collective bargaining agreement with U.S. Soccer this week. They’ll play their first match since inking that new deal against Russia on Thursday, and some new players will get a look.

Jill Ellis will get a look at some different players before the NWSL season starts.

Meghan Klingenberg and Amy Rodriguez weren’t in the USWNT squad for the SheBelieves Cup, but have been added to the roster to face Russia. Also joining the squad and hoping they get looks are attacker Kealia Ohai and defender Megan Oyster.
Two uncapped teenagers have made the squad, midfielder Jaelin Howell and forward Sophia Smith — both from Real Colorado, the same club that produced Mallory Pugh — are on this team. While they might be handed short run-outs, don’t expect either to start.
Tobin Heath, Lindsey Horan and Morgan Brian are all out of this team due to injuries, though thankfully all of those injuries are minor. With them absent, expect to see Rose Lavelle and Mallory Pugh get more opportunities, while Allie Long could be moved from defense up into midfield.
