Galaxy vs. Impact 2017 live stream: Start time, TV channel, and how to watch MLS online

Two frustrated and fiery teams meet in a huge match in Los Angeles on Friday night.

We’ve seen some fantastic Friday night matches in MLS over the last couple of years, and this clash between the Los Angeles Galaxy and the Montreal Impact promises that it could be exactly that. While the results haven’t been there for either one of these teams so far this season, both the Galaxy and the Impact have some of the highest-potential talent in Major League Soccer, and a win here could see one of these teams vault into the kind of form they’ve long sought this season.

Both teams are desperate to find a solution to their early problems, and hope that solution appears on Friday. The Galaxy have struggled some in the final third, but last weekend it was their defense getting blown off the pitch in Vancouver that doomed them to failure. Montreal’s attack has done right this season, but have struggled late in games to put their opponents away, losing points twice in the 90th minute, and failing to find the winning goal they needed against New York despite outplaying their opponents for much of the match.

These problems aren’t insurmountable for either team, but they are incredibly frustrating for fans and players alike. That could add an extra edge to this match, because sometimes that frustration doesn’t go away until things boil over — and given some of the fiery personalities on each team, if that fire gets sparked on Friday night, we could see quite the inferno on the pitch as a result.

The Los Angeles Galaxy will be without Robbie Rogers in this match, as well as the long-term absence of Sebastian Lletget with a foot injury suffered on international duty with the USMNT. The Montreal Impact may be without key defender Laurent Ciman thanks to a knee injury, but will definitely be without a trio of midfielders, as Andres Romero, Shamit Shome, and the key playmaking talents of Ignacio Piatti will all be absent with various injuries.
